Public Board Meeting Highlights- Nov. 5, 2024
Chair of the Board Chris Sigurdson called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.
Trustees shared their takeaways and next steps from the day of learning held on Oct. 31.
The board received updates on several capital projects, including École Sage Creek Bonavista, École Sage Creek School, and Island Lakes Community School. The board was also informed that live data for the K-8 Class Size Tracker is now accessible online.
Superintendent Michalik submitted the 2024/2025 K-12 Framework for Continuous Improvement Report to the Manitoba Government.
Assistant Superintendent Cadez brought information from his presentation for Dyslexia Canada - Manitoba Universal Screening Symposium.
Corey Kapilik, Director of School and Classroom Supports, shared highlights from the Indigenous Education Team day of learning on Oct. 30, 2024, and the SCST staff meeting on Oct. 22, 2024.
The Board passed a motion to amend the following policies:
- – Disposition of Property: Print Materials
- – Disposition of Property: Equipment and Furniture
- – Disposition of Property: Technology Equipment
- – Authorization of School- / Division-Owned Equipment
Policy DN-4 – Disposition of Property: Vehicles received first reading.
Policy GCQF/GDQD- Progressive Discipline Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff received second reading.
The Chair adjourned the meeting at 7:24 p.m.
